Howdy !
At last my biggest unit is almost done. Thirtyfive Dwarf Warriors with Thane Battle Standard Bearer. I tried to make them look like more common dwarves than elite. To complete the unit, I have to paint a filler. Here are some photos !
Originally the blog was about mustering a throng of Dwarfs and painting them on to the Warhammer gaming table. Now as time has passed I have finished painting my second army of Ogre Kingdoms. After Ogres I started my first 40k army Grey Knight and after that got a few Adeptus Mechanicus to their side. Now the Grey Knights are gone and replaced by the disgusting Death Guard. Bring out the Nurgle ROT!

Painting Dwarf Warriors, Update 4
Hey !
Dwarves got their clothes painted. I decided to paint them grey, that the metal parts would stand out more. Leather parts, capes and wood parts remains to be painted.

Dwarf warrior unit with BSB Thane assembled
Finally got my warriors assembled and modified. I've earlier modified the same GW battalion warriors to Hammerers, so I somehow have to make these warriors look lower rank. Maybe I'll use bronze paint instead of gold etc. I also had to do a unit filler and use one unordinary figure to get the unit size to 39. I had little trouble with Thane's standard and topped my skills by drilling and pinning the standard to Thane's fist. I was fairly sure that I would ruin the whole model :). Here's some photos !

Slayers after morning bath
The Slayers look much better after instant shade. I still have troubles with the standard, but managed to get it upright of some sort. Some photos !

Base coloured Slayers
At last I completed the base colouring of the Slayer unit. I have troubles with the banner and tried to pin it down with little success. Tonight they are going to dive deep. Here are photos and more is coming after dip.

Meanwhile in Slayer unit
Slayers got their white base coat, flesh, hair and beards painted. They start to look like something. Maybe I'll paint the clothing next. Here are bunch of photos.

Ready, aim, fire !
I built up a small unit of Thunderers. In my army list they all shoot with dwarven hand gun, but I had to put some pistols in the mix that the unit would look little bit more variable. The shooters in next battalion box will be built as Quarrellers. A photo.

The Hammerer unit
Sign of Hammer Be My Guide !!
I didn't feel like painting, so I decided to build up the Hammerer unit. The Hammerers were converted from GW dwarf warriors by chancing great weapon axes to hammers. I had to find more hammerheads and to make some pretty exotic hammer conversions to complete whole thirty of them. I may add some details before painting, but here are photos of them.

Slayer unit built up !
Finally got the pieces together with the Slayer unit. Some bitz were left over, but I think there's no need to put every last bit of detail into the figures. I have to watch in awe how Avatars Of War has made these superb looking figures. I hope I don't ruin them with my painting :)
