Tomorrow is my first fantasy battle match and I have been trying to finish painting at least one of the unit. Didn't get there, but close. Here are the slayer unit in final stages. There are gems and etc that are not ready, but maybe in the next game.
Originally the blog was about mustering a throng of Dwarfs and painting them on to the Warhammer gaming table. Now as time has passed I have finished painting my second army of Ogre Kingdoms. After Ogres I started my first 40k army Grey Knight and after that got a few Adeptus Mechanicus to their side. Now the Grey Knights are gone and replaced by the disgusting Death Guard. Bring out the Nurgle ROT!

Slayers after morning bath
The Slayers look much better after instant shade. I still have troubles with the standard, but managed to get it upright of some sort. Some photos !

Base coloured Slayers
At last I completed the base colouring of the Slayer unit. I have troubles with the banner and tried to pin it down with little success. Tonight they are going to dive deep. Here are photos and more is coming after dip.

Meanwhile in Slayer unit
Slayers got their white base coat, flesh, hair and beards painted. They start to look like something. Maybe I'll paint the clothing next. Here are bunch of photos.

Slayer unit built up !
Finally got the pieces together with the Slayer unit. Some bitz were left over, but I think there's no need to put every last bit of detail into the figures. I have to watch in awe how Avatars Of War has made these superb looking figures. I hope I don't ruin them with my painting :)

Christmas comes twice a year
Got a package containing new minis and some dip ! I have only heard good recomendations of Army Painter's dips, so I though I should try it on my forthcoming Dwarf army. I like the idea not have to paint the wash with a brush, but to dip the whole figure into it and have instant and even shade around it. I hope I'm not going to be disappointed :)
My first battalion of Dwarves ! I decided to convert the warriors to hammerers, because I didn't like the GW hammerer models and thought of paying 20 euros for five models made my stomach hurt. I opened the box and noticed that there are only few hammerheads for converting great weapon axes to gw hammers. I may have to beg my friends for some hammerheads to complete 30 hammerers with great weapons. I think there will be lots of hair pulling and swearing before the task is completed :)
Uah ! This is one of the reasons I started to collect a dwarf army. Avatars of War Dwarf Berserkers ! The figures are so great looking that I can't wait to put some paint on them. Not shure which colour to use, but the hair and beards are going to be classical orange :)
Here's the first test drive of converting a warrior to hammerer. He's going to be the Gate Keeper of the bunch, because of the leaders helmet and the pint 'o malt in his hand :)
