The hobby has been on a break over a year. No games, no painting only streaming services :D

Thanks to 10th edition I got my shit together and completed Generals for my Death Guard army. Behold Typhus and Prince of Nurgle.

Two new Fellowes of the Death Guard space marines got a paint job. I also practiced airbrushing with earlier model painted before. The flame is now much better :)

Shooting the basecoat pt1

At long last I had time to continue the DG project. Still long way to go, but at least it’s a start. Tomorrow shooting some poxwalkers :)

Cooking up some bases

I tried to do some pestilence ridden bases with mud, slime ponds and some scruberries. There is a component that can be used to do some water effects in miniatures, but didn't get that from my local store, so I had to settle for gloss varnish to get the ponds seem wet. I'm satisfied with the effect, though it doesn't show on the photo.

It has been quite a while for updating the blog for real. Long have I been a fan of airbrush painting and finally puchased the equipment of my own. As the airbrush technique is so different than painting with normal brushes I decided to sell my Grey Knights and start an army from scratch to get all the models painted with airbrush style. Nurgle rot has always been close to heart, so where else would I go? Here are the first test subjects to my Death Guard color scheme.

On following sunday evening the Dwarfs and High Elves are going to battle against Chaos worshipping bastards. I set a goal to finish the painting of Anvil of Doom and guards by then. Only details of the Anvil and it's pedestal remains to be done. The guards were quite fast to paint and Runelord got his basing done. Some photos !

Some Scibors, AoW and Battalion

The last minis that I've planned for 2400 point army arrived today. Runelord from Avatars of War, Anvil Guards and BSB Thane from Scibor miniatures and GW Dwarf battalion box. The Scibors were my first resin minis so I didn't have any experience of them. When I started cutting the Anvil Guard axe off from the resin mold it exploded to thousand pieces. Nice ! After that I took the cutting little bit gentler. Maybe the resin models are more detailed, but working with it sucks, IMHO ! I intend to make dwarf warriors with great weapons from the battalion box, but have to do little conversions because I converted my earlier battalion dwarves to Hammerers. So here are the first assemblies :)
