Throwers

This time it was the throwers' turn. These were my first models I bought for my Dwarf throng and they were already assembled and got some paint on them. When dipping the Grudge Thrower I found out that you shouldn't sink the model so deep into the can that it connects the bottom because there is some semi solid stuff that sticks to the model and is little bit hard to get off. The crew members are the first dwarves I painted, so I'm not so proud of any of these figures :)

Warmachine crew ready for action

Yesterday night I thought I finished painting the crew members of Bolt Thrower and Grudge Thrower. At dawn I woke up in a different reality. Not satisfied with all of the eyes, wrong paint in wrong places, etc.. There are corrections to be made, but in the end the dwarves look like what my skills are, meager at the best :)

Fire at Will !

I bought my first dwarf figures. These are secondhand stuff, though unpainted. I will update the photos as they get some color on them.

Two heroes. I bought the right one as a Master Engineer, but the parcel contained also the left one. What shall I do with the drunken sailor ?

Old version of Bolt Thrower and it's crew. I have to tweak the bolt thrower's painting and the base a little bit to meet my standards.

Old version of Grudge Thrower and crew. I like it.

Wash up !

Greetings ! I completed the base colouring of the warmachine crew members and added the washes. Ogryn flesh for the flesh and devlan mud for the rest. I think they start to look like something :)

Base colouring continued

I put some base paint to the clothes of warmachines' crew members. The Grudge Thrower crew got green shirts and the Bolt Thrower crew red. At the moment they look quite dull and I was wondering, if I should try to paint some patterns to the clothes. Only problem is that I don't know how it looks when I add the highlighting with drybrush. How to highlight so that the patterns are also highlighted ?!? Maybe it's too hard for me, but you'll never know if you don't try :)

Dwarves got some paint on

I started by painting the skin and beard. Bolt crew got brown beards, Grudge crew yellow and the heroes their own beard color. I fucked up with the base coating with the heroes. My friend told me of a fast tecnique, how to enhance the details of the figure by base coating. The idea was first to spray the model with black and then with white spray only a little bit that the white colour only goes to the highlights of figure. Sound easy, only I did it the other way around and my models' base coat looked like negative. I couldn't see any details anymore ..ACK ! Well, it goes how it goes :)
